Printer-friendly version
Date:
25 Aug 2015 - 10:00am

Unfortunately, due to the wet weather, this field day has had to be postponed.

Please check back for the new date (hopefully in September).

The Kyeamba Valley Landcare Group invites you to our two-part field day!

Part 1: Low cost erosion control (10 am to 2 pm)

Part 2: Direct tree seeding demonstration (2.30 pm to 4 pm)

Low cost erosion control - "Slow the flow"

The morning-lunch session will be led by Cam Wilson from Earth Integral, and will include:

  • Shaping and protecting a sizeable active headcut using brush and logs
  • Vegetation strategies using pole cuttings to halt active erosion and encourage infill of an existing gully
  • Using rock and a loader to halt an active headcut and encourage infill of an existing gully

This session will be held at Chris and Jerry Garner's "Silver Springs" (see directions on attached flyer). Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Direct tree seeding demonstration

The afternoon session will involve a demonstration of the Kyeamba Valley Landcare Group's Roden Direct Tree Seeder (available for hire from the Group).

There will also be an inspection of regeneration and direct seeding successes over 20-30 years.

This session will be held at Dick Green's "Flakney Springs" (see directions on attached flyer).
